how we met :)

this time of the year always reminds me of when i met clint so i thought i'd share the story {and maybe some embarrassing pictures} with you..

{warning longest post ever because of so many pictures}

it was this day four years ago {a few days before my 16th birthday} and i was at a friends house having game night. clint stopped by {and i had no idea who he was} i was getting ready to leave and reminded everyone of my birthday dinner the next night--i felt bad and said to clint "hey--you can come too!" thinking i was just being polite--no way this complete stranger will show up--sure enough the dinner rolls around and clint's there.

we went swimming that night and i kept getting looks when he was talking to someone--then they'd come up and say "he thinks your cute" blah blah blah--you know how it is when you're in high school. everyone told him to give up because i didn't date anyone {glad he didn't listen!} then we play a game of chicken and he asked to be my partner {oh my gosh i was shy--you know me and my friends talked about it ALL that night--our conversation went something like this: "oh my gosh he asked YOU--he sooo likes you, do you like him?"}

that night i got texts from our mutual guy friends asking me what i thought {i'm no idiot--i knew clint was sitting right next to them} so i played it cool. clint started "randomly" showing up to a lot of our events {he went to the enemy school-ha so it wasn't common} homecoming comes around and i ask him--when he comes outside to see my dress one night, it's really awkward--as we're saying our goodbyes he leans in to kiss me for the first time and i kid you not it was the worlds fastest kiss--more like a head-butt, and i slammed the door and drove off as clint ran back inside hahaha. most embarrassing moment ever.

let me just say. i wasn't boy crazy, clint was/is my first (and only) boyfriend.  so kissing at the time? yeah not my specialty--i didn't get my first kiss until going into my junior year. i was NERVOUS okay? ha. we had lots of "downs" in the beginning because of different lifestyles and just growing up {aka-i was kind of a goody two-shoes didn't/don't drink, party, kind of played hard to get and was picky--well i just wasn't boy crazy and wasn't going to settle! ha} BUT! he eventually asked me out {for real} at dinner {olive garden} and had a little note on my plate when it was served. cheesey? yes. but still so cute :) we both found God, matured, fell in love and have been together for almost four years :) {January 19, 2008} we are SO blessed to have each other, he is my BEST friend and i wouldn't want it any other way :) want some pictures from along the way? {tons of pictures.}

monday madness.

okay so today consisted of an early drive home on no sleep. but. got lots accomplished--even built a table. mhm, you heard right. i built a table. okay okay, more like clint built the table and i watched. BUT i did help sand, putty, prime, and paint! :) he is moving into his one bedroom apartment this weekend and needs a small kitchen table, all the ones he found were expensive--and we're cheap/broke college students--so he decided he'd build one. turned out pretty good, wanna see?

now obviously i "staged" it outside so it will look a bit different--he's going to get different bar stools--but curious on total cost?! drum roll................$22 bucks!  he has an open layout and is considering putting it sideways between kitchen/living room and having it set up like a breakfast bar--efficient for the space! whatcha think?!

oh&&and bachelorette watchers--what was up with that interruption?! come on now. but i'm pretty sure JP has it in the bag--i'm a new bachelor/bachelorette watcher {have only seen ali/brad's before this one} and for some reason i didn't get as attached to these people--am i the only one?

clint {yes, he watches it with me--and actually gets into it--he's a keeper ;) } called it on JP and Ben, i liked the dentist (blake i think?) but mostly because he was a cutie. we'll seeee!   

oh&&i was watching house hunters {confession: i'm addicted to HGTV--one of my grander moments was when my tweet was featured as "tweet of the week" and i had a commercial--don't know if i should be embarrassed or not that that is a proud moment in my life} and the woman was moving to a foreign country for its lifestyle and said "a lot of people in america live to work and i want to work to live" not all that deep, or original--but something i agree with :) so i may not know what i want to do--but i know i want to follow that quote. very scatterbrained post--sorry! now off to bed!

date night! (oh & happy 4th!)

considering my family and I aren't going out until later tonight for our 4th of july festivities--I'm going to have to postpone my 4th of july post! our plans are a riverside fireworks show--complete with a darius rucker!

this is kind of a random post--i'm home for the summer and my hometown {not very big or exciting} just got a Buffalo Wild Wings so clint & I had a mini-date and got lunch there--it's pretty much constantly packed! when we get something new here-it's the talk of the town&boy let me tell you-you can't go there without seeing someone you know.. {kind of like walmart-ha!}

&&&now a special treat--i was playing fetch my baby outside and one {of many} reasons i love {and am kind of obsessed with} her is the fact that she prances like an antelope--take a look:
